About this blog

Living and Working with Children is a resource for helping parents, teachers, and other care-givers learn about how children develop and behave.  I will facilitate discussion on common issues and childhood milestones, drawing from over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults through various stages of life.  The blog will discuss the origin or goal of children's behavior as well as offer suggestions for addressing behavior challenges.  These suggestions may work with one child and not another or with one sibling and not the other or with one child at one time and not at another time with the same child.  You may or may not agree with the suggestions and that is perfectly alright.

This blog is written in a question and answer dialogue based on the questions of a young friend who is very interested in human development.  My friend who is referred to as Questioner has supplied many of the questions, inquiries and concerns as encountered on her exploration of human development.

I hope that you will join the dialogue as we discuss the complex challenges that parents and care-givers face as they help children grow into successful adults.  The intent for the blog is to provide a format for sharing ideas, thoughts and experiences about living and working together with children in this continually changing world.   The blog is meant to be a tool for parents, teachers and other caregivers and a place to share experiences and suggestions for unleashing children's unlimited potential.
